A Carpe Diem Snapshot:

Liturgical: Friday of the Second Week of Easter
John 3:31-36
The one who comes from above is above all; the one who is of the earth belongs to the earth and speaks about earthly things.
Sanctoral:Today the Church celebrates the feast day of St. Joseph the Worker. Fittingly, in some countries like Spain, today is Labor Day. St. Joseph’s work as a carpenter was a way to provide for his family and to participate in the divine plan of salvation, making him a fitting patron for workers.
Human: The Month of May 2025: Holidays, Fun Facts, Folklore
Natural: May’s birth flowers are the Hawthorn and the Lily-of-the-valley. The hawthorn means hope, while the lily-of-the-valley symbolizes sweetness or the return of happiness. May’s birthstone is the emerald.
Italian: Pignolo (fussy / pedantic)
Quote: Oh, what is so rare as a day in May,When the great sun shines like this!
When the soft winds woo, all tender and true,
And breathe on one's cheek like a kiss!
When the sky is so blue—ah—heaven's own blue!
And the birds in the greening trees
Are bursting their throats with rapturous notes...
