A Carpe Diem Snapshot:

The morning arrived cool and grey over the lake, a proper Michigan summer welcome after the Roman-like heat that hit us in Detroit upon arrival yesterday. As we waited for the flight to Grand Rapids a thunderstorm rolled in, delaying the flight but cooling the earth down. We made it home eventually and found the electricity out, though it wasn't a concern as my clever husband had prepared for these inevitabilities and intalled a generator last summer. Before dawn today the cacophany of bird chatter reluctantly drew me out of bed and out onto the porch. The chatter of another little bird across the lake (Cordelia) caught my attention so I grabbed my phone to capture the early morning Carpe Diem moment for you. The video won't upload here so it's attached to the post on IG.

Matthew 7:15-20
