A Carpe Diem Snapshot:

Back on the board! Tony knew just how to make me feel more at home on the sea by getting me a paddle board. This one is a lot bigger than the board I use on the lake, but also much lighter. This morning I took it out for a first "run" and it went pretty well... until I tried to stand up when the big waves came in. Guess I should have watched this video first! Paddleboarding on the sea with waves is a whole new challenge compared to the placid waters of Michigan's small lakes but it also offers new opportunities- such as surfing with a paddleboard! Stay tuned...
Liturgical: Saturday of the 11th Week of Ordinary Time
“So do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring worries of its own. Today’s trouble is enough for today."
Matthew 6:24-34
Sanctoral: The Church celebrates Memorial of St. Aloysius Gonzaga (1568-1591) today. His outstanding quality was his radiant purity and the Church praises this perfect innocence with the words, "Thou has made him little less than the angels." He was baptized in the womb, because his life was in danger, and he made a vow of chastity at the age of nine. When he was sixteen he joined the Society of Jesus and died at the age of twenty-three in 1591 in Rome as a result of his devoted nursing of the plague-stricken.
His relics are in the Jesuit church of Sant'Ignazio in Rome.
